Please join us for one or both of these fun workshops hosted by our friends at Humane Society Waterville Area! The workshops will be focused on saving the most at-risk feline populations: neonatal kittens and community cats, presented by Hannah Shaw, also known as "Kitten Lady."
We’ll begin with a two-hour “Saving Kittens’ Lives” workshop: An inspiring and informative workshop for members of the public, volunteers, staff, and anyone interested in kittens. This workshop provides a thorough overview of issues pertaining to the are and protection of neonatal and orphaned kittens. The workshop begins with foundational concepts, helping shine a light on the need for more foster parents, and then focuses intently on providing the audience with the tools they need in order to save kittens’ lives. Seasoned caregivers and newcomers alike will benefit from discussions about not only kitten care, but also self-care, compassion fatigue, and sustainability. Live demonstrations and fun videos bring kitten care to life and show how simple it is for one person to make a big difference.
We'll reconvene for workshop two, "Community Cats 101": A fun, informative workshop for members of the public, volunteers, staff, and anyone interested in felines. This workshop provides an overview of issues pertaining to feral and community cats, examines the various programs that can save them, and dives deep into how to humanely and effectively trap, neuter, return, and care for the cats in our communities. Hands-on demonstrations and entertaining videos will pique the interest of first-time volunteers, and even seasoned trappers will discover new insights through discussions of contingency planning and creative ways to trap and care for our feral friends.
Finally, we'll host a brief Meet & Greet with Hannah from 6:00–7:00 pm (tickets are limited).
